About She Speaks United

She Speaks United began with ten women meeting once a month in a living room, practicing preaching to one another.

All ten felt called to learn how to effectively communicate the gospel with others but struggled to find a place to develop those gifts.

Since then, She Speaks United has evolved into something far beyond that cozy living room and those ten women.

We are making room for you. Room for you and other amazing women in your world to come together in your own living room, church basement, or kitchen table.

We invite you to start building something with us.

God has created you just the way you are. With amazing gifts, talents and abilities. It is up to you to develop those skills and make them into something that can really bring glory to God! And you aren't meant to do that all alone. We are here to help you.

We want to help equip you with bold confidence through our unique group templates.

Within a She Speaks United group, you will experience safe peer ministry, loving feedback, and plenty of practice honing your gifts!

So come on. Gather some girls and let’s start this journey together.

Hear from our alumni

Some of our first She Speaks United Alumni share how being in a group helped grow their ministry and their relationship with God.

We believe

  • We believe that women are called to tell others about the good news of Christ. (John 20:18)
  • We believe that women are relational, and that they flourish and grow best in community.
  • We believe in the power of loving feedback to help us develop our gifts and talents.
  • We believe that equipping women to preach is part of the great commission of Christ to his followers. (Matthew 28:19)
  • We believe that there is balance in ministry when both men and women are leading in churches. (Galatians 3:26-29)
  • We believe in the value of being prepared for the work God calls us to, in and out of season. (2 Timothy 4:2)
  • We believe in the value of women being included in the ministry of the Gospel.

MESSAGE FROM OUR FOUNDER

TAYLOR MADGE, FOUNDER and SHE SPEAKS director

I have known since I was young that I had a teaching gift in me. Before I knew Jesus, I thought this meant I was supposed to be a school teacher. As I grew however, I realized I didn’t have a heart for teaching children and I thought maybe I had misunderstood what was in me. Looking back, I can see the situations and jobs He had placed before me to develop this gift, even though at the time I didn’t quite see it. After I encountered Jesus and He wrapped me up into his life and His church I realized that teaching in His house could be a very real way He could use me. I decided to get intentional about learning and growing in this area. I have been a part of women’s ministry for more than ten years now, leading small groups, organizing large events, doing one on one mentoring, as well as spending 3 years serving women in prison through coaching. I have a passion for helping women find out who they are in Christ and what they are living for.

I really believe that we all have some amazing God given gifts and talents. Some that we see and know, and others that are lying dormant in our souls, just waiting for the right environment or situation or time to start coming to life.

The heart behind She Speaks United is to create such an environment, one where you can practice and learn and grow in the gifts God has given you. All for you to find YOUR UNIQUE VOICE.

We believe that this happens best in a loving community where we can:

  •  Invite other women from our local church to share their wisdom with us.
  •  Help one another with constructive feedback.
  •  Release the truth of Jesus through our own heart and experience.
  •  Practice these skills to help us be prepared for the opportunities God may be bringing our way.

No one else has a story like yours. No one else has the perspective you have. Jesus allowed you to have the experiences you do so He could use your story to bring others to Himself.

People can argue with your opinion. It is a lot harder for them to argue with your experience. Your unique experience is a marker that someone else can follow and gain encouragement from for their own journey with Jesus.

For far too long, women have allowed the enemy to hold them back, to keep us from sharing our experience and perspective with others. You have been given a place of influence in your life. If you aren’t sure what that is-do a 365 degree turn and everything you can see is your area of influence.  Your family, your workplace, your neighborhood, your serving opportunities.  These are all places God wants to use you to be a truth teller.

Working through the She Speaks United template and taking the time to practice hearing from Jesus and sharing that message with your group is an amazing weapon against the fear the enemy would throw at you. It helps you awaken to the reality that Jesus wants to use you to spread the gospel and that you can in fact do it! Yes you!

For some, this experience will reveal that you have a very real preaching and teaching gift in you that you can develop and use in your local church. For others, you may find that you adore the studying and learning and you may find a passion for writing! Or perhaps you will discover a deep love for helping others have a rich prayer life. God has created you to be creative. Let's learn how to express that creativity together!

You all will find your relationship with Jesus can be so much deeper and richer, and we believe ultimately it will reveal the specific way he wants to use you and your gifts!

We believe in you. And so does Jesus.
